In this article we will be looking at configuring the new Blogger Settings once we create new blogger we need to configure the settings and set corectly

Step 1: Set the Title, Description, Visible to Search Engine and Blog Address

Initially when you are about to start the blogger you need to set the blogger Name this is the name that will be visible when you load the blogger on your browser

Description is the blogger description this is the Blogger Keywords that will be used to rank your blogger on Google Search Engine. Get the list of keywords separated by comma and you should set the good quality keywords to rank your web blog appropriately on google search engine.

Blog Address this is blogger address that your reader will use to load your blog. The Blog Address should be trendy and catchy so that your reader will remember the blog. Custom Domain we will be looking when we register blog as website in future articles we will be explaining this.

Step 2: Set the HTTPS Setting, Blog Admins and Authors / Readers

Enable the HTTPS secure connections for encrypting your website data when it gets exchanged on internet from web server to browser. Add Blog Admins / Authors / Readers if you have multiple blog admins, authors (Blog Writers) and Readers (If you want only some readers to read your blog). Add their Gmail addresses and they will get invitation as Blog Admin / Author / Reader, email invitation may go in to spam folder some time we need to take care of it.

Step 3: Enable the Comment Moderation in the Comment Section

Set the Comment Moderation to always and leave the other settings by default

Step 3: Enable Search Description and Custom Redirect

Search Description allows your SEO your blog post to have Search Description the Google Search Algorithm will read this Search Description and rank your page based on the Keywords Mentioned in the Search Description. Search Description can be found when you create a post here just enable the setting.

Custom Redirect enablement allows you to fix your reader entering invalid URL that leads to 404 error. When Invalid URL of your website is entered your website may not have take action on "404 error not found" because that page may not exists at all. Custom Redirect allows you to display 404 error message and redirect you to main page

How to Fix 404 error 

Enter below script in to custom 404 section so that it display the 404 error message and then the script will redirected reader to home page of your blog by user friendly message. 404 error not found may also be caused when you revert the published post to draft post we need to be careful while moving the page to draft.

Step 3: Enable Custom Robots and Indexing Settings

Enable the Custom Robots txt in order to crawl your website. Google will use bots to crawl in to your website in order to index your complete blog, it uses sitemap.xml file for indexing. We should be entering the below set of rule by enabling the Custom Robots txt. It allows Googlebot but Disallows Google Mobile bot to index as it may cause your blog to have duplicate pages in Google Search Engine.

Indexing in Web Server

Blog Indexing or indexing for journals are set of rules that allows blog pages to get indexed and some blog pages to no to allow to get indexed. The blog pages that should get indexed are home pages, post pages etc. The blog pages that should not get indexed are search pages, archived pages. Set the Indexing by Enabling "Enable custom robots header tags" settings as given in below screenshot and save them.
