Onion Pakoda Recipe

Onion Pakoda is mouth watering South Indian snack made out of onion and gram flour (besan). Onion Pakoda is the best with Coconut Chutney / Mint Chutney and a Tea to sip into. Below is the recipe to make 10 Onion Pakodas 


  • 2 Onion Chopped 
  • Handful of Coriander Leaves finely Chopped
  • Gram Flour (4 Spoons)
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1 table Spoon
  • Half Table Spoon Salt
  • Half Table Spoon Chili (or) 2 Green Chilies
  • Water 150ml for making batter
  • Cooking Oil 1/2 Liter

  1. Take mixing bowl add Gram Flour, Onion, Ginger Garlic paste, Chili, Coriander Leaves and Salt Mix well
  2. Sprinkle little water 10-20 ml in to the mixture and keep mixing, Keep adding water and mix until you get smooth batter.

Instruction for Deep Fry

  1. Take fry pan add cooking oil heat in to medium flame, when oil is hot make small eatable size of better and gently add into Oil
  2. Deep fry until the Onion Pakodas are Light Brown, Take out the Onion Pakodas and Serve Hot !!!
