Mushroom Biryani Recipe

Mushroom Biryani is type of Vegetable Biryani where instead of vegetable we will be using Button Mushroom as Vegetable. Button Mushrooms are easily grown and available all over World. Mushrooms take less amount of time as they are very soft. Procedure to Cook Mushroom Biryani is similar to that of cooking Vegetable Biryani but it takes less time. Below is the recipe to cook Mushroom Biryani for two people.


  • Ghee 3 table spoon
  • Tej Patta 1
  • Cardamom 2
  • Cloves 4-5
  • Cinnamon 2
  • 4 Onion Chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes Chopped
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 2 table spoon
  • Coriander Leaves 3-4 Branches
  • Mint Leaves 3-4 branches
  • Biryani Masala 1/2 Table Spoon
  • Water 1/2 Cup
  • Salt 1 Table Spoon
  • Mushroom 2 Cups with Outer Layer Removed
  • Rice Half KG (Bullet / Basmati )
  • Water 3/4 Litre


  1. Take Cooking Vessel Clean the Rice with Water, Remove Water. Cook Rice with 3/4 litre water add 1/2 table spoon of Salt
  2. Cook until Rice gets 3/4 Cooked, Remove the water from Rice
  3. Take Cooking Pan Heat in to Medium Flame add Ghee and then Onion Fry for 1-2 min and Keep Mixing Onions until Golden Brown
  4. Add above mentioned spices Tej Patta, Cardamo, Cloves, Cinnamon and Ginger Garlic Paste keep mixing for 1 minute
  5. Now add Tomato, Coriander, Mint Leaves and Water Mix Well
  6. After 1-2 minute add mushrooms mix well and cover with lid cook until 5 minutes
  7. Add Above 3/4 Cooked Rice in to Mushroom Mixure and Mix well
  8. Cover the lid and cook for another 3 minutes, Once cooked well switch off the flame and serve Hot
