Ghee Rice Recipe


Ghee Rice is the recipe most loved during special occasions like weekends and family party times. Cooking of Ghee Rice is simple as cooking plain rice. Below is the Ghee Rice recipe to cook for two members


  • 4 table spoon ghee
  • Small Bay Leaf
  • 2 cloves 
  • 1 Onion Sliced in to Small Pieces
  • 1 Cinnamon
  • 1 Cardamom 
  • 2 Chilies 
  • Half KG Rice
  • Half liter water
  • Handful of Cashews 
  • 4 Table spoon of Raisins
  • 1/2 Spoon Salt

  1. Wash rice using water, drain it and leave it for 10 minutes to soak in water
  2. Take cooking vessel heat into medium flame add 2 tables spoon of ghee roast cashews and raisins until cashews turn golden brown, Remove them in to a cup keep a side
  3. In the same vessel add 2 table spoon ghee, add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom keep mixing for 30 seconds
  4. Add onion and green chili sauté until onion turns golden brown 
  5. Now start adding the rice carefully, add half litre water and salt mix well. Close the lid and let cook for 15 minutes
  6. Add the fried cashews and raisins on top of Ghee Rice and let cool in normal temperature for 5 minutes
  7. Start Serving immediately !!!
