How to get connected to Power Hypervisor Session using dev User

Power Hypervisor Session provides advanced mechanism to debug and troubleshoot the Power System. The Hypervisor is responsible to manage virtualization of Processor, Memory and even SRIOV Network adapter.

To login to the Power Hypervisor  we need to have access to the dev user of Flexible Service Provider(FSP). Login to the browser GUI interface of the FSP using the FSP ip address and login with dev user id with its password. Once login in successful it will list the option "Network Services" expand it and then click on "Debug Virtual TTY"

Debug Terminal will request for three parameters Partition ID, Session ID and Time out as given below snapshot. Fill out these three parameters with 0, 0 and 60 and select "Save Settings"

Upon clicking the "Save Settings" the "phyp #" console gets activated and we should be logging into it with in the time of 5 minutes  the below message
Debug Virtual TTY, Operation completed successfully.

Partition ID: 0
Session ID: 0
Time out: 60

You may start a debug session now. If data is not sent within five minutes, the debug session will be closed. Unexpected results may occur if more than two debug sessions are opened or same debug session is opened more than once.

If the session gets timed out then we will get the below message and we may require to follow the above procedure again to get the new Debug Terminal Session

The session duration is only five minutes so we need to login to the session during the duration of session.

Opening the PHYP session

Once the above settings is saved open the putty session using telnet to fsp ip address with 30002 port number. New session with the below prompt will open and using this session we can query memory info, power off partition, power on partition etc etc.

The PHYP will accept macros some of the macros to try out are meminfo -h, lparMfg -h, spcndownload -h, spcninfo -h and vsp -h these are the commands to list out the memory information and vsp is to list down the partitions running in the system currently with their state.
