Serial-attached SCSI (SAS) is protocol that is used to connect hard disk drive to the system using PCie3 adapter. SAS disk comes with smaller capacity of 100G storage and can be placed with in the Power System rack.

The SAS disk can attached directly to your LPAR or it can be connected to VIOS and then virtualised. In this page the SAS disk is connected directly to LPAR
