How to refresh or restart the RMC in Linux LPAR ?

Answer :

RMC stands for Resource Monitoring and Control its a communication channel between the HMC and Linux LPAR.

Below is the command to refresh the RMC

# /opt/rsct/bin/rmcctrl -z
# /opt/rsct/bin/rmcctrl -A
# /opt/rsct/bin/rmcctrl -p

# refresh -s ctrmc

Check the status of RMC daemon

# lssrc -a | grep rsct

If still RMC is not getting refreshed, Flush the Linux Firewall rules

# iptables -F

If domain is not set properly execute the below command and then perform the refresh of RMC

# /opt/rsct/bin/rmcdomainstatus -s ctrmc -a IP

If in case rmctrl file sets are missing from the Linux LPAR then install these filesets and execute the above commands.
